We want to know what kinds of food allergies our readers have and any other choices they make. Are there any vegans out there reading Gluten Free Portland dot Org? We want to know! We’ve set up a poll at the top of the right hand column of our blog. Vote and leave comments on this post. Results from this and past polls are available on the “Poll Archive” menu tab above.
Today we were at the store and I picked up a gluten-free cookie that turned out to be awful. I mean it was like extruded foam textured, nasty tasting and had a worse after-taste. At the same time, it was chocolate, and if there’s anything I have a soft-spot for, it’s chocolate. So I kept eating it. I’m munching a piece of it right now.
This brought up a debate between Sienna and me. When faced with a sub-standard imitation of the real thing, like say overcooked rice pasta or an extruded cookie, do you eat it, or do you throw it out? Although I’m really passionate about food and have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the country, sometimes I find myself overlooking the shortcomings of a product just to eat like a normal person.
How about you? We want to know! Take a moment and vote in the poll at the top of the column directly to your right.
