Two Quick News Items

This is your reminder that this Saturday is the Portland Gluten Free Food Fair, which benefits the Portland Metro GIG. More details are here. Here are the basics: Saturday, May 1, 2010 – 11 AM to 2 PM at the All Saints Catholic Church at 3847 NE Glisan Street. The cost is $5 per person for a max of $10 per family. Children under 12 get in free.

This has nothing to do with gluten-free living, but it is about Portland. We saw FROGZ at the Imago Theatre last week and we both really enjoyed it. The show is actually kind of hard to describe. It’s a very imaginative series of vignettes starring animals, mysterious orbs, glowing bacteria-like organisms, an acrobatic larval creature, penguins, and even a cowboy. It is very mysterious, funny, creative, and worth seeing. It’s cultural events like this that make me love Portland even more.

FROGZ plays April 15 to May 16. Thursday (7PM) and Friday (7PM) ticket prices are $10 Kid, $15 Youth/Senior, $19 Adults. Saturday (2PM & 7PM) and Sunday (2PM) Tickets are $16 kids, $26 youth/seniors and $29 adults . Call Imago 503.231.9581 or TicketsWest at 503.224.8499, or online at www.ticketswest.com

  • I am totally bummed out because I have been wanting to go to that fair for a year now and my sister is graduating from U of P that day. I guess I’ll wait another year :(
