I live in Eugene, Oregon and luckily I have family in Portland so I visit a lot. A friend told me about New Cascadia Bakery and I am so pleased with their products. In my opinion they make the best gluten free bread ever. I am so happy that New Season's stores now carry their bread and when visiting my son in Lake Oswego it easier to buy the bread there than having to drive to S.E. Portland. I always make the favorite family birthday cake gluten free but this year we were in Portland for my husband's birthday and attending a wedding and I was perplexed about how that was going to happen. Of course I went to New Cascadia Bakery and ordered a chocolate cake with mocha frosting. Problem solved and no leftovers. The cake was fantastic. I have told friends about New Cascadia and I always get a thank you phone call. The breads stocked by our local grocery stores taste like cardboard and the only dedicated fresh bread baker closed her bakery and left town. Now folks at New Cascadia please contact Rick and Debbie Wright at 541-342-6342 or 2783 Suncrest Ave. Eugene, Oregon 97405. They are the owners of Market of Choice (2 stores in the Portland area). I would be delighted if they would again carry a fresh gluten free bread and most importantly the bread from New Cascadia Bakery. Thank you for considering this matter. Linda Sheppard

Hi Teresa, Thanks for your comment. Sorry about the incorrect identification. I've made the change in my post. Of course, now I don't know if a batard is supposed to be like a baguette! Thanks again. - Dave

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the kind review of our bakery. I do have to mention that what you describe as our "Seeded Baguette" is actually our "Sesame Batard". It's our basic French style bread with sesame seeds on top.

Our Seeded Baguette is thinner, longer and rolled in our multi-seed mix of sesame, poppy, sunflower, pumpkin, flax and black sesame seeds.
It's one of my favorites, too.

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure your readers knew the difference.

Thanks again and I hope to see you at our kiosk again!
